State Police Arrest Sex Offender
WEST VIRGINIA....
West Virginia State Police in Beckley arrested 37 year old William Gene Smith for failing to update his sex offender registry. Smith, of Beckley, was convicted in 1991 for third degree sexual assault of a 13 year old girl from Raleigh County, meaning he must register as a sex offender for life and notify police of any changes. Smith failed to tell state police he changed jobs in November. He faces 1-5 years in prison. Smith has been released on bond. # posted by Homer Owens @ 8:53 PM
