Applebee's Hosts 3rd Annual Celebrity Dinner Party

Last night several well known “local celebrities” rolled up their sleeves and went to work at the Pikeville Applebee’s trying to solicit tips from patrons to donate to the Big Sandy Child Advocacy Center. Former First lady Judi Patton, host of the event and name sake of Judi’s place for kids was on hand as well as Munroe, Trooper Scott Hopkins, PC President Dr. Hal Smith and many more. The fundraiser held every April during child abuse awareness month raised over $3,000 according to preliminary statistics from the center, which will go towards funding for a new facility

Woman Charged With Endangering Welfare Of A Minor

A Pikeville woman is behind bars this afternoon after an officer allegedly spotted her intoxicated during the Hillbilly Day’s festival. 33 year old Chandra M. Slone of Upper Chloe was taken into custody Friday evening after an officer received a report of a female exhibiting strange behavior. According to the arrest citation Slone allegedly had in her possession several xanax tablets and was allegedly unsteady on her feet and had severely slurred speech. The officer goes on to state that Slone had her child with her at the time of the arrest resulting in a charge of endangering the welfare of a minor along with Public Intoxication, Possession of a Controlled substance and prescription not in its proper container. She was lodged at the Pike County Detention Center and is being held until her arraignment tomorrow morning in Pike County District Court.
