Williams Retains Post
KENTUCKY...
David Williams will continue his run as Kentucky Senate president.Republican senators voted unanimously Saturday to give Williams another term and the GOP caucus decided to retain its current leadership at a meeting in Elizabethtown. The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that Senate President Pro Tem Katie Stine, of Southgate, Majority Leader Robert Stivers, of Manchester, Caucus Chairman Dan Seum, of Louisville, and Whip Carroll Gibson, of Leitchfield, all retained their jobs.
All but three members of the caucus attended the meeting and all submitted votes. The positions of president and president pro tem will be voted on by the entire 38-member chamber in early January, but Williams and Stine should be re-elected because the GOP caucus will have 23 members.
