New Carlisle County Courthouse

Progress is being made on a new courthouse in western Kentucky, turning an arson fire into a positive change for residents.The Carlisle County courthouse was destroyed in a fire Dec. 26, 2007.
A jury found Jeremy Ellis of Bardwell guilty of arson and sentenced him to 12 years in prison.Greg Terry, judge-executive of Carlisle County, told The Paducah Sun that one of the things that stood out for him when he recently walked through the still-under-construction new courthouse in Bardwell is the amount of space.The courthouse will be roughly 36,000 square feet. The county has sold $12.9 million in bonds to pay for it.
