October Is Roadside PRIDE Month

KENTUCKY...
PRIDE will help local governments dispose of litter collected during October, which is Roadside PRIDE Month in 38 counties of southern and eastern Kentucky.

The Pike County Fiscal Court is eligible for $7, 500 in Roadside PRIDE
funds. The City of Pikeville is eligible for $750. Elkhorn City and Coal Run
can receive up to $250 each. The Roadside PRIDE funding levels are based on
each county and city's number of road miles.

The funds can be used to dispose of trash picked up by volunteers or
collected at free drop-off events.

PRIDE also provided local governments with trash bags, vests and gloves to
pass along to volunteers.

To volunteer to pick up litter near you, please call your local PRIDE
Coordinator. In Pike County, please call Jimmy Dale Sanders at 432-6245. In
Pikeville, please call Jesse Bowling at 437-5104. In Elkhorn City, Mayor
Billy Powell is the PRIDE Coordinator, and the number is 754-5080. In Coal
Run, please call Mayor C. Laverne Dye at 437-6032.
