Union College Gets Grant Fund$
KENTUCKY...
A college in southeastern Kentucky has received a $500,000 grant to offer scholarships to students interested in studying math, biology or chemistry.
A statement from Union College says it was awarded the grant by the National Science Foundation to support southeastern Kentucky students with academic promise and financial need.
Scholarship applicants must also belong to a demographic group identified as underrepresented - the economically disadvantaged, first-generation college students, women or minorities.
Each student chosen will receive a scholarship in the range of $5,000 - $10,000 per year, which can be combined with other forms of financial aid.
Union College is a private liberal arts college located in Barbourville and associated with the United Methodist Church.
