Special Grand Jury Investigating Whitley County Sheriff
KENTUCKY....
The special grand jury investigating Whitley County Sheriff Lawrence Hodge and his office met for the third time Friday, and several former employees testified. The department is also being investigated by the FBI concerning budget deficits of more than $200,000. More suspicions were raised when a December break-in at the office revealed 80 guns unaccounted for. The jury meets again on September 17th and will likely meet three or four more times. Commonwealth's Attorney Alan Trimble says he expects a decision on whether or not to indict Hodge by mid-October.
