Police Arrest Floyd County Alleged Shooter

KENTUCKY....
After several days on the run, police arrested 24 year old Michael Nolan Slone just after 7:00 P.M. Wednesday night. Several police agencies combed the hills around Highway 850 in Floyd County and found him in the Hippo community about three to four miles from where police say he shot his former girlfriend and her boyfriend on Saturday. Police say they found Slone walking between two vacant houses and approached him, taking him into custody without incident, although police say he had a hidden stash of weapons. Slone was treated at the scene for potential dehydration. From there, he was transported to the Floyd County Detention Center where he was lodged. After the arrest was made, a variety of weapons was located near the scene. Slone is charged with two counts of attempted murder, burglary, and harassing communications. Police say one victim, Lee Sammons, is in stable condition at Cabell-Huntington Hospital, while Jessica Nelson has been released from the hospital.
