Fire Trucks For Fire Boat Trade
KENTUCKY...
A western Kentucky fire department has its first aerial ladder truck plus a pumper in a swap for a fire and rescue boat. The Paducah Sun reported the trucks arrived on Tuesday after the Reidland-Farley Fire Protection District trustees approved the deal. It gave the department a ladder unit with a 50-foot reach and a rescue-pumper truck. Both are 1993 models.
James Wessel, president of Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus, told the newspaper he had a buyer for the boat before the truck deal closed. The local department bought the $269,000, 27-foot boat last year and never used it.
