Companies Receive Energy-Efficient Funding
KENTUCKY...
Gov. Steve Beshear says three Kentucky companies have been awarded stimulus funding to make energy-efficient upgrades.
Beshear announced that General Electric Co. in Louisville will receive $2.5 million, Arch Chemicals Inc. in Brandenburg will receive $450,000 and International Paper Co. in Henderson will receive $400,000.
The companies were among 13 that sought funding for projects that would save energy and reduce operating costs. Beshear says the projects will serve as an example of how private businesses can reduce energy costs and benefit the environment.
