Alleged Floyd County Shooter Pleads In Court
KENTUCKY...
Michael Nolan Slone, the man accused of shooting and injuring two people on Saturday and then hiding from police for days, pleads not guilty in court. Slone was caught in the Hippo community after a five day manhunt. The judge set Slone's bond at one million dollars. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder, burglary, and harrassing communications.
Police say on Saturday, Slone broke into his ex-girlfriend, Jessica Nelson's home and then when she and her boyfriend came home, he allegedly opened fire, shooting Nelson once and Lee Sammons three times.
Slone was taken into custody peacefully, but police say they found a variety of weapons nearby. Slone will have a preliminary hearing on Monday.
Nelson is out of the hospital and expected to recover. Police say Sammons remains in stable condition at Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
