Airport Director Sentenced
KENTUCKY...
The former executive director of Lexington's Blue Grass Airport has been sentenced to probation in a theft case.
Michael Gobb pleaded guilty in June to two counts of theft by deception after a criminal probe into $500,000 in questionable expenses made by top airport officials.
Gobb was originally indicted on nine theft counts, but the others were dropped as part of his plea deal with prosecutors.
The charges Gobb pleaded guilty to involved buying personal items with his airport credit card. He paid about $41,000 in restitution before he was sentenced Friday by Fayette Circuit Judge Pamela Goodwine.
He is the last of four former airport officials to be sentenced in connection with the probe that began when the Lexington Herald-Leader published a series of articles detailing lavish spending.
