Fifth Third Bank And Huntington Church Settle Lawsuit
WEST VIRGINIA....
Fifth Third Bank's federal lawsuit against the Apostolic Life Cathedral in Huntington was dismissed last week after the parties reached an undisclosed settlement. In December, the bank had claimed that the church owed more than $702,000 on a $900,000 loan taken out in 2001, plus nearly $37,000 in interest, and that Mark Manuel of Tennessee had helped the church file fraudulent documents related to the loan. Fifth Third Bank also had sued Manuel and his company, DigiGreeters, as well as church trustees and elders. According to the church's legal filings, in June 2009, Manuel presented the church with documents showing that the entire loan had been paid.
