Black Bear Killed In Letcher County
KENTUCKY....
A black bear killed by wildlife officials in eastern Kentucky last weekend had broken into a home at Linefork in Letcher County. State wildlife biologist Steven Dobey said the young male bear had become "a public safety issue" after it "went way over the line." No one was home when the bear broke in, ripping down curtains breaking windows, destroying furniture and tearing a hole in the roof. Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources spokeswoman Mark Marraccini said officers kill about four bears a year in Kentucky because of irregular behavior.
