Massey Faces Protestors At Blasting Site
In an effort to prevent blasting, 25 year old Nick Stocks and 24 year old Laura Steepleton, both from Rock Creek, perched themselves atop trees around 6:30 A.M. Tuesday (today) at the edge of Massey Energy's Edwight mountaintop removal site above Pettry Bottom and Peachtree in Raleigh County. Protestors associated with Climate Ground Zero and Mountaintop Justice unrolled two banners reading "Stop Mountain Top Removal" and "DEP--Don't Expect Protection."
