Kentucky Volunteer Fire Departments Get Grant
The U.S. Forest Service has provided more than $490,000 in grants to the Kentucky Division of Forestry. The funding will enable volunteer fire departments across the state to pay for training and equipment, such as pumps, hoses, protective gloves and fire shelters, while helping communities guard against forest fires and decreasing the risks to homes in fire-prone areas.
