Mingo County Circuit Judge Michael Thornsbury has denied that he is friends with Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship or that he has accepted donations from Blankenship. Thornsbury also says his former campaign manager and current business partner declined the job of administering a medical monitoring fund. He says he has no conflict of interest that would prevent him fromfairly presiding over a coal slurry pollution case against Massey Energy's Rawl Sales and Processing. Thornsbury says he won't step aside.
