The Pike County Animal Shelter will be closed until further notice. The animal shelter has experienced significant damage from a mudslide , and cleanup will take one to two weeks. All animals have been evacuated and none will be accepted until cleanup is completed. The supply building was completely destroyed and supplies will be needed for re-opening. Cat, dog, kitten and puppy food, cat litter , collars, leashes and towel donations can be made by dropping them off at the north or south Mayo Autobahn, Maggards Furniture, Pike Automotive or Mountain Furniture. Thanks to everyone who brought a foster animal into your home. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Once again, if you have a scheduled appointment to bring animals to the shelter, please do not bring them until clean up is completed.
