U.S. 23 Now Open
All four lanes of U.S. 23 at Dorton Hill were closed for about four hours Wednesday evening after two coal trucks collided with one another.
According to authorities the accident happened in the center lane which is designated for trucks.
An 18 wheeler rear ended a 10 wheeler. The driver of the 18 wheeler was transported via helicopter to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Crews had to clean up hydraulic fluid, motor oil and antifreeze from the roadway. The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m.
