Upward Bound Goes Hollywood
After completing two summer classes at Pikeville College, Upward Bound seniors enjoyed an all-expense paid trip to California. The group flew to San Diego where they toured the city, visited Sea World, the San Diego Zoo and spent time at Coronado Beach. Following a tour of Hollywood and a day in Universal Studios, students visited Los Angeles, taking in popular landmarks, including Rodeo Drive, The Magic Castle, the Walk of Fame, The Kodak Theater, and Grauman’s Chinese Theater. To join Upward Bound students must be a freshman or sophomore at a Pike, Floyd or Martin County high school.
