Former KSP Trooper Sentenced.
A former Kentucky State Police Trooper was sentenced Friday to serve two years probation after he pleaded guilty to fouth degree assault.
Jared Alfrey admitted that he assaulted Williamson, West Virginia resident Randall McCoy last July. Alfrey arrested McCoy after answering a domestic call at the residence of McCoy's girlfriend. Alfrey took McCoy to an abandoned mine site at Turkey Creek and assaulted him before transporting him to the Pike County Detention Center. McCoy was hospitalized for eight days.
Alfrey was originally suspended before resigning.
McCoy has filed a civil suit against Alfrey.
