Proposed Mingo County Dirt Track Project Still Alive.
The Mingo County Commission adopted a resolution to contact Governor Joe Manchin by letter asking what the criteria is for a one million dollar loan that the governor has offered to the county for the construction of a dirt race track which would be located at Twins Branch.
Commissioner Greg Smith says that the county wants to make sure that the loan wouldn’t effect investors. Smith says that the private sector that has committed money to the seven million dollar project didn’t want to be responsible for paying the loan.
