Kentucky Attorney General Announces Indictment of Psychologist

Attorney General Jack Conway today announced that a Warren County Grand Jury has returned a four-count felony indictment against a former Kentucky psychologist for Medicaid fraud.

Investigators arrested 43-year-old Kenneth A. Brasel of Glasgow on Monday, March 24. He is lodged in the Warren County jail on a $20,000 bond. He will be arraigned on Thursday, March 27 at 9 a.m. (CDT) in Warren Circuit Court.

According to the indictment, Brasel fraudulently billed the Kentucky Medicaid Program for psychological services to school children that he did not perform. The indictment alleges that Brasel engaged in the fraudulent billing between 1998 and 2004, and that he concealed a prior felony conviction at the time he sought permission to treat the children. Brasel faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of the four Class D felonies.
