Former Eastern Kentucky Coal Operator Sentenced To Prison
A former eastern Kentucky coal operator will serve 18 months in a U.S. federal penitentiary.
Ireland Williams of Louisa was also fined $ 3,000. The former coal operator of the James H. Taylor Mining No 1 Mine at Turkey Creek was convicted on three counts of violating the United States Coal Mining Safety Act.
Williams was sentenced in United States Federal Court in Pikeville.
