Congressman Hal Rogers Announces Fire Departments Can Apply For Funding.
U.S. Rep. Harold “Hal” Rogers (KY-05) announced today that fire departments can apply for the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters’ Grant Program starting now through April 4. This initiative supports local fire departments’ emergency response operations and firefighter health and safety programs.
“The assistance to firefighter grants enables our local fire departments to get much-need resources, said Rogers. “When emergencies strike, we all depend on firefighters for a timely and thorough response and the federal government created this program to help them achieve this critical mission.”
The Assistance to Firefighter Grants are funded at $560 million for this year’s budget. As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, Rogers works to secure funding for important initiatives in the fifth Congressional district.
