Williamson Fire Department Receives Grant.
The Williamson Fire Department was recently awarded a federal grant in the amount of
$47,500.
The money will be used to assist with updating operations and safety equipment.
A portion of the money will be used to purchase a exhaust removal system for the fire engines.
Fire Chief Jerry Mounts says that a safe level for carbon monoxide is 9ppm. The unit will reduce the level of carbon monoxide after they start up the fire trucks.
Mounts says with the doors shut that level climbs to 1,326ppm.
