Governor Beshear Plans To Overhaul Retirement System
Kentucky's retirement system covers more than 445,000 people, and to prevent it from going broke, Governor Beshear says he has a plan to overhaul it.
The Governor said Thursday he wants to take action now to ensure benefits for future public school teachers and state and county government employees. Essentially, the plan calls for making employees work longer before retirement, and reduces annual cost of living increases for retirees.
