Community Action Program Seeks Emergency Heating Funds
Many families in eastern Kentucky are on a fixed income, and many of them rely on assistance from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Apparently, the program has run out of money.
Case managers and other community action officials are in Frankfort talking with legislators about House Bill 153, which would provide the program with $10-million dollars in emergency benefits.
