Two Dead In Traffic Accident
The Paintsville EMS Director, Christa Burchett of Lowmansville, and 24-year old Erica Brown of River were killed in an accident that ocurred off U.S. 460, about five miles west of Paintsville.
Burchett was helping Brown, who was pregnant, into an ambulance after Brown's car skidded off the road, injuring her.
A coal truck, owned by M&R Trucking of Salyersville, and driven by 38-year old Leslie Spense, was coming over a hill and braked, slamming into a police cruiser and the two women.
Brown died at the scene...Burchett was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
