Budget Cuts May Affect Eastern Kentucky Schools
As state legislators met in Frankfort Wednesday to consider proposed bills, school officials watched a statewide webcast from state education Commissioner Jon Droud.
Droud told educators that Governor Beshear has not decided to make cuts yet, but to begin planning for what could come in the fall.
He suggested they plan for the worst and hope for the best, although some think Droud does not expect major cuts.
One suggestion made by educators would be to cut the njumber of attendance days, but that is a decision that would have to be made by state legislators.
