32 Floyd County Workers Lose Their Jobs.

Citing receiving less funding from the state and federal governments to help pay bonds for landfills, water districts and the jail, the Floyd County Fiscal Court laid off 32 employees effective Friday morning.

Judge-Executive "Doc" Marshall says that the action was necessary to prevent Floyd County from going into the red.

Marshall plans on lobbying Governor Steve Beshear and Congressman Hal Rogers for more funding .

Marshall added that the workers will be asked back to work when it becomes economically feasible.
