Life Sentences For Youthful Offenders Under Scrutiny

Five offenders who committed crimes in Kentucky while juveniles, and, are serving life without parole for the crimes committed, have challenged the penalty, saying state law doesn't allow it.

Assistant Public Advocate Tim Arnold, who is representing one of them, says kids are just different and we don't just give up on them. But, Chris Cohran, Commonwealth's Attorney in Bowling Green says an offender's age doesn't matter.

Some believe Kentucky may be at a turning point on the issue.
