Bill Filed To Ban Hand-Held Phones
Kentucky Representative Tom Burch of Louisville has filed a bill for consideration during the 2008 session of the General Assembly. It would ban the use of hand-held cell phones while driving.
The bill would make it a secondary offense, meaning a person would have to be pulled for another violation before they could be ticketed for talking on the phone while driving.
A hands-free device would still be permitted. Emergency calls would also be exempt.
