Unemployment Figure for Pike and Surrounding Counties Drop.
Workforce Kentucky reports that the unemployment rate for the month of October rose in 94 of Kentucky’s 120 counties. However the jobless rate for Pike and surrounding counties dropped.
Here is a list of counties their
unemployment rate and the rate for the previous month.
Pike 5.4 % from 6.6 % = -1.2 %
Johnson 6.2 % from 7.1 % = - 0.9 %
Magoffin 8.7 % from 10.6 % = - 1.9 %
Martin 7.2 % from 8.2 % = 1.0 %
Magoffin County’s jobless figure is eighth highest in the commonwealth.
Jackson County has the highest jobless figure at 10.2 %.
Fayette and Warren Counties have the lowest at 3.7 %.
