Pikeville District Judge Serious About Truancies
Judge Kelsey Friend, Jr. says he isn't afraid to punish parents if their kids are truant from school. He says he's taking the subject very seriously. Eighty cases are pending since the beginning of school in August. Three unexcused absences are considered too many...and, school board directors are sending parents to court at the sixth unexcused absence.
