Pike County Tax Collections Going High Tech.

Pike County property tax collections begin Monday. This year the bill will look different .

Lucy Mullins with the tax division says the bill will be a yellow postcard. Tax division employees will be using a computer system to scan the barcode on the bill. That’s why it is vital that the public mail or bring in the bill when making payment .

Mullins says several counties in the state are going to the new automated system. The automation is expected to eliminate most paper work, and make the process of collections move smoothly

The county generated $ 18 million dollars in property taxes last year.
