Governor Joe Manchin Met With Nurses Association and ARH Officials.
Representatives from the WV/KY Nurses Association and Appalachian Regional Healthcare held a round of talks Wednesday in Charleston with Governor Joe Manchin.
The governor proposed to both sides a 90 day cooling off period. Manchin suggested that ARH allow the 600 striking nurses go back to work under there old contract for 90 days so that talks could go forward.
A representative of Kentucky Governor-elect Steve Beshear was also at the meeting.
