Beshear Names Transition Team.
Governor-elect Steve Beshear named 10 members to his transition team.
Governor’s Office : Ed Holmes of Lexington, who is president and owner of the engineering firm EHI Consultants. Holmes served in 1994 as Public Protection and Regulation Cabinet secretary under then – Gov. Brereton Jones and later was appointed by Gov. Paul Patton to the Public Service Commission.
Economic Development : Joetta Wickliffe, of Harrodsburg, chairman and president of the State Bank & Trust Co. since 1963 and a member of the University of Kentucky board of trustees since 1997.
Finance Cabinet: Mark Guilfoyle, of Nothern Kentucky, a lawyer with Deters, Bezinger & Lavelle in Covington. He was one of Jones’ top aides from 1991 – 1995, serving as general counsel, budget director and executive cabinet secretary.
Personnel Cabinet : Carol Palmore of Frankfort. Who served as personnel cabinet secretary under Patton’s administration. She was Secretary of Labor for Democratic governors Collins, Wallace Wilkinson and Jones.
Health and Family Services Cabinet : Eleanor Jordan of Louisville, the former state representative and congressional candidate in 2000. Patton appointed her ombudsman for the Families and Children Cabinet in 2001.
Education Cabinet : Donna Moore of Lexington , who worked at Kentucky Educational Television from 1975 to 2004 including serving as senior producer for public affairs.
Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet : Steve Nunn of Glasgow, the former representative and son of the late former Republican Governor Louie Nunn.
Justice Cabinet : Steve Pence of Louisville, the lieutenant governor and former U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky. Pence won election with Gov. Ernie Fletcher, whom Beshear defeated on Tuesday and served as Fletcher’s Justice Cabinet Secretary from 2004 to 2006.
Commerce Cabinet : Helen Mountjoy of Owensboro, who is the executive vice president of the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation and chairwoman of the Owensboro Advisory Board for BB&T .
Transportation Cabinet : Ernesto Scorsone of Lexington a state senator and attorney and former chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee.
