U.S Army Corps of Enginners Can proceed with Logan County Flood Control Project.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been given the go ahead to proceed with a project that calls for the widening of 3,600 feet of Island Creek to reduce the potential for flooding . The flood control project will protect 252 homes and businesses in Logan County.

The project also includes a flood warning system to notify residents of rising water in the Island Creek and Mud Fork areas.

The cost of the project is expected to cost $36 million, with the money coming from local and federal sources.
