Update On Wednesday's School Bus Collision

PIKEVILLE, KY – Earlier this afternoon, trauma victims were sent to Pikeville Medical Center as a result from a Pike County School Bus’ collision. A total of 18 patients were seen due to the accident. Upon arrival, emergency staff and hospital personnel were ready when the first victims arrived. The patients were quickly examined and given any necessary treatment.
Sue Muse, Pikeville Medical Center’s Incident Commander, said, “the process went smoothly. Having practiced scenarios like these on numerous occasions, everyone was ready for action and poised.”
Some patients were being treated into the evening. More details will be available on Thursday.
