Prowler Caught in the Act.
A Matewan man that attempted to break in a home in the Matewan area ,Wednesday evening was caught red handed. The Mingo County Sheriff’s Department apprehended Matthew Cook. The Matewan resident was charged with night time burglary, obstructing a police officer and assault on a police officer. Cook is accused of entering a home and attempting to take items. Authorities were alerted of the intruder by a phone call. No one was home at the time.
