Nine People Die On Kentucky Highways

Preliminary statistics indicate that nine people have died in eight separate crashes on Kentucky’s roadways last week.

All of the fatalities were traveling in motor vehicles and five of the victims were not wearing a seat belt.

One double fatality crash occurred in Carter County. Single – fatality crashes occurred in Hardin, Hart, Casey, Graves, Clay, Whitley and Nelson Counties.

705 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2007. This is 49 fewer than reported for this time period last year.

Of the 559 motor vehicle fatalities a whopping 317 victims were not wearing a safety belt.
