Miner Killed in Boone County.
An underground mining accident in Boone County has claimed the life of a coal miner. Ron Wooten, West Virginia Miners’ Health, Safety and Training Director say the miner was pinned between a rock and a jack or part of a conveyor belt. Wooten didn’t release the identity of the miner.
The accident occurred at Long Branch Energy’s Mine #23 in Danville.
This makes the sixth mining fatality in West Virginia this year.
