Kentucky First Lady Spearheading Library Upgrades.

First Lady Glenna Fletcher announced a major initiative to ensure quality libraries for every Kentuckians in every community of the Commonwealth. The Governor and First Lady committed to funding a new program, Libraries across the Commonwealth, to be included in the next biennial budget.

First Lady Glenna Fletcher says that the funding will ensure that each community across Kentucky will have the opportunity to have a 21st century library facility.

The Fletcher’s want to commit six million dollars in additional funding for debt assistance grants for library construction and $ 12 million dollars for state aid to public libraries.

The Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives records show that more than two million state residents have public library cards.
