Federal Trial of a Louisa Man Rescheduled for Tuesday.

The trial of a Louisa coal operator that was scheduled to begin Monday in federal court in Pikeville will instead begin Tuesday. However the trial will be held in London.

U.S District Judge Gregory F. Van Tatenhove recused himself from the case. The case will now be heard by Judge Danny C. Reeves.

Ireland Williams is charged with six counts of violating the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977.

Williams was one of five men indicted earlier this year for numerous mine safety violation at a Pike County mine located near Turkey Creek.. Charges against three others were dismissed after they agreed to cooperate with prosecutors.
