The Town of Coal Run is researching on how money much it would cost to hire a full-time police officer and purchase a cruiser. Mayor Laverne Dye told us that the town needs to provide police protection for its residents and businesses. Dye added that the town has grown over the last couple of years. Dye said that the town has a security guard that works at night , but that is not enough. The town is going to try to apply for a grant through coal severence money.
