450 National Child Identification Program Kits Distributed in Mingo County
According to Mingo County Prosecuting Attorney Michael Sparks the kickoff of the county’s participation in the National Child Identification Program was a tremendous success. Over 450 NCIP ID kits were distributed during the Williamson Memorial Hospital Health and Safety Fair.
The NCIP ID kits will be distributed at Mingo County elementary schools in the future. NCIP ID kits may also be obtained at the Mingo County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
The National Child Identification Program was created in 1997 as a community service initiative to help protect America’s children and change the statistics related to missing children. The NCIP ID Kits promote awareness of child safety and provide parents and guardians with a clean, convenient way to record their child’s fingerprints, DNA and physical characteristics. Each NCIP ID Kit contains an inkless fingerprint card, DNA collection envelope and laminated wallet card.
