Vanhoose Found Guilty on Three of Four Charges.
Peggy Vanhoose, former finance director for the Johnson County School System was found guilty by a jury in federal court in Pikeville Friday evening. The jury found guilty on three of four charges brought against her. She was found guilty of giving herself illegal salary raises and covering it up, giving herself extra sick days and writing her son paychecks while he was in jail and cashing them herself. Vanhoose was found not guilty of charging more than $6,000 of personal purchases on the school board credit card.
Vanhoose will be sentenced November 27th. Shelby Coleman, a former payroll assistant will stand trial on similar charges this week.
