Sunshine Girl Celebrates 90th Birthday.
The Sunshine Girl Lucille Smith was honored Monday as she celebrated her 90th birthday. Smith has hosted the Personal Touch , the longest running show in America for the past 43 years. The call in show airs on 1240 AM WPKE- Pikeville, 1400 AM WBTH Williamson and 1460 AM WEKB Elkhorn City. The thirty minute program airs weekdays from 5:00 pm – 5:30 pm..
Walter May, owner of East Kentucky Broadcasting said that Smith is a fixture in the lives of many people in eastern Kentucky.
Smith said that she would like to think everyone that has helped her over the years especially May that gave her the opportunity over 40 years ago to host a show. Smith added that she can’t wait until she celebrates her 100th birthday.
