Portion of Building That Was Being Demolished Collapses and Severely Damages Abandoned Building.

Demolition crews have completed the razing of the Old Pioneer Hotel Building in Logan. The former five floor building closed down over 30 years ago. The building had become an eyesore. However another abandoned building also located on Main Street is now structurally unsafe. Officials told us that on Tuesday evening before the Pioneer was completely demolished, the north side of the structure collapsed , the remains of the building fell across the street striking the abandoned building that formerly housed a florist business. No one was injured. Logan Police Chief David White says that a portion of Main Street is closed and that traffic is being diverted through Stratton Street.
